Better

Thank you all for your prayers.  I am feeling better today.  It has not been a steady climb to better, but more a roller coaster. I can definitely tie it to a lot of activity and on my feet.  However, today I was able to connect with my oncologist and get some advise for pain management.  She said I could both take Alieve for the muscle pain and double my pain patch if needed.  She told me my pain did not sound metastatic in nature, which thrilled me.  I will get complete results from my PET/CT scan on Friday afternoon.  I will then hopefully get round 5 of Ixempra.  Saturday afternoon, I was able to go to the beach...yea!  I LOVED my beach-time, and it was one of the highlights of my trip.  I will try to post pictures and recap the Florida conference tomorrow, as I am pretty tired tonight.  I just wanted to give you a quick update as I have left you hanging (and praying) since Saturday.  A friend said to me that I never complain about much pain, so I must be feeling horrible!  I am not horrible, just experiencing more pain than usual.  And on some of those roller coaster days like Saturday and again Sunday night back home, I did feel pretty horrible (okay, I admit it already!!) Today was a better day and as per my mantra, I am thanking God for this moment.  Thankfully, even on hard days, I was able to thank God for you and your prayers and comments to me over the last few days; they were such an encouragement.

Love,
Jess

So true Anita!

Jess, you didn't keep us hanging and prayig since Saturday, praying is something we are ALWAYS doing for you, we just stepped it up a notch. Take the medication when needed, but the best thing you can do is take it easy. Take care of you first, the rest will happen.

Thrilled to hear that you dad will be in town this weekend. Looking forward to seeing pictures and learning about your experience last weekend.

All our love,
Aunt Janette

Jessica,

I have read your recent blogs and You continue to amaze me! Your perseverance and character is awe-inspiring. God's love overflows in you and your life is a ministry to all you encounter.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 ~ Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, "the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us is all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows."

This verse is very real to me. I think the Lord is using you to comfort those in trouble with the comfort you yourself have received from God. The way you live your life everyday gives great comfort and peace to me & reminds me that we can still have joy and contentment regardless of our circumstances. Thank you for that testimony!

Now let me comfort you in your trouble in the way that I myself have received comfort from God. I said a prayer for you today! I love your analogy in your blog of Jesus walking on water with you going with you through the storm. The bible says that He will never leave or forsake us... and you are right, His power will be revealed in all the storms. These verses came to mind and I just wanted to share them with you. I pray that the Lord will be your strength in your weakness! And, I pray that you will have peace and rest today and tomorrow as you await you PET scan results.

You are truly an angel, heaven-sent and I am blessed to call you my friend!!

Romans 15:5 ~ "Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus"

God so desires to comfort His children. In Isaiah 66:13, God says “as a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you” (NIV). I encourage to take your pain to the Father of Compassion and God of all comfort and allow Him to quiet you with His love. He promises that one day He will surely wipe away our every tear (Rev 21:4). I am excited about that day!!

Psalm 147:3 ~ "The Lord heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (NIV)

Psalm 119:76 ~ "May your unfailing love be my comfort, O Lord, according to your promise." (NIV)

Psalm 34:19 ~ "A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all." (NIV)

Praise God for these truths...because we know all this to be true, we can "REST, BE STILL & KNOW THAT HE IS GOD!!" and know that His power will be revealed through all the storms. This is my prayer for you today!!

I pray that this will give you encouragement and rest as you go tomorrow.

Your friend,

Lisa Smith
