Leg Surgery

Jess has been experiencing some leg pain, so they took some x-rays. It turns out she has a new tumor in her femur which has weakened the bone. To prevent it from breaking they will have surgery. The surgeon she wants to do the surgery, Dr. Adam Star, is on vacation but the hospital was able to get in contact with him. Jess will have the surgery the beginning part of next week. We were very much looking forward to Jess coming home on Wednesday, but that looks unlikely now. The good news is that they are still going to let Jess leave on a day pass to go to Bryn's party.

Sigh...I know you guys have to be a little frustrated. Give Jess a big hug for me. At least they caught the tumor before it was inoperable. But, I know Bryn's birthday will be a wonderful day for everyone. I love you guys :)

I guess another positive is that Jess has enough feeling in her legs that she could tell that something was wrong! But I know it must be so hard to expect to come home and then be delayed. Good luck with the surgery, and I hope your homecoming will be soon!

Jess, What can I say...I'm so sorry. I am thankful it (the tumor) was found quickly enough to operate. I pray you will heal quickly from surgery and that you will gain strength and feeling so you can progress in your therapy. And most of all please (I know you will) have a great time at with your family. Love, Sharon H.

Well, here is yet another "overcoming opportunity." And we all know, as well as you, that Jesus is in the overcoming business. Even though this tends to get us a little "down", we have to remember to "lift up our eyes" and SEE! Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." SEE THAT! We all love you and pray for you daily. Kay DiB
